Lauren’s Sweet Sixteen!!!

Butterflies and Bling was the thing!!!  After so many thoughts of what’s the THEME?? What’s the Theme??  Laurens dress just made me think of butterflies and her dream was dripping crystals.  Lauren is one of my BFF’s  daughter from the old hood.  A 30 year friendship, and now I’m planning her oldest daughter’s Sweet Sixteen…just two more daughters to go…yikes!! Whats next their weddings…OH MY!

Feeling old, and yet so young, having so much fun!!! Months of planning… well, actually years!! LOL Lot’s of shopping and plenty of laughs. My 6th Street girls were my team of experts, evaluating every step of the process! Lauren herself being super creative, definitely made this a teaching and learning experience rolled into one.  The quality of life shared with lifelong friends is such a priceless memory.  It’s funny how the tables have turned; now she’s doing my makeup and hair for a girls’ night out!  I LOVE MY JOB!!!

I love it even more when its for treasured family and friends.

Being Grateful for the things you have in life is very important. Every day I decide to find something or someone to be grateful for. Spring brings on the flowers, sunshine, longer days, and my birthday! It took me a while, but after several events to pull together and then brag about I realized that I over looked how special a day my birthday is and almost forgot to be grateful for myself this year! I have a rich life, filled with an amazing family, several friends, a job that I love, clients that I adore and a city to live in that makes my heart beat at every street corner I turn. My life, my whole self has been a process and one that I am absolutely so proud of. These last 2 years I have turned my life into a dream. Luck has something to do with it, but being grateful has everything to do with it. Working on yourself begins and ends with loving who you are, opening your heart, being honest and loving life to the fullest every minute. I am so very grateful for the work I finally put into myself. It has made me a better, daughter, sister, Tati (aunt), friend, yogi, florist…I am a better human to this universe because I was better to myself. Writing this blog brings me joy and further commitment to myself and to my future. My promise to me, to you, to those that know me, to those that love me, or sit next to me on the train is this –

For my birthday this year I decided I wanted to spend it doing the second best thing I love to do…YOGA! It was a sweet birthday indeed. Flowers seem to follow me wherever I go, what a joy this weekend brought me! Yoga, flowers and chocolate….Thank you Lotus Wei and Elena Brower!!!

There are so many spring events coming up and I cant wait to share the photo’s. But in the meantime, enjoy the blooms that are cracking open from the earth, look closely at the buds bursting open from the tree branches and remember to get yourself some flowers for no reason at all!!!

Walking through the market in the last few days the little bitty bulbs are popping up in the crates  and the flowering branches…OMG! Here is a peak – Ill post more photos as the buds bloom – girl scouts honor xo!
